Replace or Repair Potterton Performa 28 Hot water issues!

We have had issues with our Performa 28 in the past and now another has reared it's ugly head. This time it's to do with our hot water or lack of!

Wether it's running the shower, bath or sink the boiler will fire up and heat the water to maximum and then just switch off after a few seconds it will fire back up by which time the cold water has cooled down what hot water was in the sink or bath.

The central heating is fine I have had that running without any issues but as soon as I switch a hot tap on I start getting the hot n cold problem. Turn the hot tap off and central heating is still running fine.

Is it going to be worth paying for an engineer to fix this issue or should we be looking at a new boiler?

Thanks for the quick reply, will this be easy for an engineer to fix and if so roughly how long should it take?

Tell him to bring one with him and it will be done in less than half an hour
Takes minutes to do really easy job
