Can anyone help, I have managed to cut the cord on my Hegde Trimmer.

Are they easy to replace? Or should I go to an electrician.

Usually, all you need is a screw driver to open the side of the trimmer and get to the powercoord terminals. If you know how to fix a lamp you know how to fix this, same thing different packaging.
Take some care to make sure you have the sleave protector though

Why not simply buy an exterior graded plug in joint and terminate the cable using that?

Or there are waterproof cylinders (powerbreaker make one) designed to join the flex and be 100% watertight.

Usually I say better to have no joints at all, but sometimes breaking into the more modern power tools is a PIA, and they sometimes have tamperproof terminations at the switch. Plus there's the issue of appliance safety and integrity once it has been disassembled.
