A relative needs the roof tiles, batons, felt replacing on a 1960s bungalow.
A few quotes have been obtained (£4K to £5K) and nearly all have offered to reduce the total bill if paid in cash (if you know what I mean).
That's fair enough but am I right in thinking that a valid receipt should be produced for such major work?
Also is a certificate supposed to be issued for this work?
I can understand a plumber replacing a washer and accepting cash but this is a major job and thus all the paper work should be in place, so a cash deal is not worth it?
