1969 built house with stainless steel plumbing and direct DHW cylinder (48" x 14") with unused backboiler. Water heating is by immersion htr only - but the type seems to be unavailable now (Dunlow - Duncan Low Ltd - list no 107). It is flanged and mounted by two bolts - size of flange is about 4.5" x 2.5" with the bolts about 3.7" spacing.
I bought a replacement about 20 years ago but cannot find another now. Does anyone have a source?
Or could I cut another hole and fit a modern tapped boss?
The cupboard would have to be knocked down to replace the odd sized cylinder and I hate working with the stainless steel pipes... so really do not want to have to go that route.

I think Duncan Low were bought by Heatrae - have you tried asking them for a replacement?

Thanks for the suggestion - checked their website and less than impressed - will mull it over some more...

Essex Flange make a immersion boss  maybe it would fit into a s/steel-or brass plate made to fit the existing boss .......Then you`re with std. immersions ad infinitum ;)

Dunno what the hole size is on the current boss - IH has not failed yet...(since the last time) - but that might be a way to go.

BTW - only standard boss I've found is 25 quid from BES - does that sound about right? - or anywhere else to get one..

£25  .........well I`d cut one off an old cly. and bronze weld it to a brass plate .....cuz that`s what old-school plumbers do  Meanwhile the corgis get £100 for fitting a couple of small parts to a M8`s combi
