TRV head has stopped working. Should I be able to replace this head with any generic one or do I need to purchase a specific model?

Thanks!

Take off.
Pin under that moves up and down is probably stuck down so valve is off.
You need to release the pin. Easy DIY fix..
Look it up on YouTube.
Going to be 1000s like that as valves have shut off all summer with the temperature being over 20c and now stuck in the off position.

Oh, noticed last winter that the radiator was always hot. Took the head off and the pin was moving fine. Therefore assumed the head has gone but haven't replaced it yet.

Hopefully, its the actuator but sometimes the rubber seaing washer on the valve perishes and allows water to pass even with the valve shut. Check (if not allready done so) by shutting the existing actuator fully and definitely check by shutting off the new actuator that there is no flow thrugh the rad.
