Hi. I've had to replace a 2m cable on a common-or-garden table lamp with a longer length (5m) so it reaches a socket. The original cable as sold was 0.75mm2, but all I could find in the sheds was 0.5mm2, which was sold as suitable for lamps. I've replaced the entire 0.75mm2 cable all the way from the plug (3 amp fuse) to the bayonet fitting, so no joins. But I'm a bit anxious as to whether this change will have made any difference to possible overheating or other problems. Any help much appreciated.
