Its been mentioned a few times but each time I ask for more info (prices) I never get a response. I've opened up one of my dewault 18v batteries (6x star screws) and seen the cells but what cells do I buy to replace these?

Are there any markings on the batteries?

There was a discussion on here a while back from someone who was planning on setting up doing this.

ISTR that buying individual batteries will be more costly than a new mass produced complete unit.

I believe they are Sub-C batteries. However be very careful when soldering the batts. Buy the ones with the tabs already spot welded on. Also make sure they will charge with your charger so check the ratings. Are they Ni-Mh or Ni-Cd? May be an option to go Ni-Mh if your charger charges these and go for higher capacity cells too while you are at it.

Fattony, can you post a pic of the cells inside it?

I will open a battery up hopefully tomorrow night, there was a discussion about this and someone was going to offer a service but he never came up with prices :(
