I have the above system installed approx 30 year ago. Very reliable, cheap to maintain but in nowadays exspencive regarding gas cumsunption. I will be selling house in next 4 years. Is it worth replacing with new style boiler + fire, or, replacing same modern style back boiler + fire.

No, you will never get your money back, if the heating works, leave it be. Chances are the next owner will want something totally different anyway. To do the job properly, you are looking at spending thousands.
