Hi. I have an old dimmer switch in my lounge which I want to replace with a rocker switch.

I have searched on the net a bit for guides etc but couldn't find anything exactly matching what I have, so I didn't want to just try something!

I have attached 2 pictures.
One is the old dimmer switch. The single wire at the top of the recess was in the Comm port and the other 2 red wires are twisted together and went into the L2 port.

The other picture is the switch I want to use.

Can anyone advise on how this should be wired up?

Thanks

The two reds to Com.
Single red to L1.

Remove the switch earth wire from the back box but leave the other one there.

Hi, thanks for the response.

Just to clarify so I don't blow myself up!
The twisted pair of reds that were in L2 on the dimmer now go to COM on the new switch? Can you explain why that is?

And to remove the switch earth wire (the one attached to the old face plate right?) I can cut it down and wrap in in electrical tape?

Thanks

When the switch is on Com and L1 are connected. It doesn't matter which way round you connect them.

If you want - and tuck it out of the way.
