Hi
I’m replacing a Drayton LP722 2-channel controller with an old wall mounted analogue thermostat controller, for a hive active v3 controller and wireless thermostat.

The wall mount is compatible. Just checking that the wiring in place does not need to be adjusted in any way before I connect it up? I’ve looked at the wiring diagrams in the manuals for both and identical, but reason I ask is that slot 2 (corresponds to CH off in the wiring diagram) is empty in the bracket already installed?

Boiler is a baxi 400 (not a combi boiler, not sure if system or conventional) if that makes a difference.

Thanks,
Alan

no need to alter wiring it should just go straight on you have a hot water off because you have a 3 port valve ,

Also on that same line of thought, I know I need to bridge the switch terminals on the wall mounted thermostat to allow the hive thermostat to work.

Wonder if someone call help with the wiring on this thermostat and how I can do this, ideally without tracing it back to wiring source?

Haha ok thank you. When you say bridge them, connect them together in terminal 1? Or wire them to each other outside the terminal with some insulating tape?

If I wanted to explore less lazy options…how would I do that?

Link wire between 1 and 2, or both wires together into either 1 or 2.

Proper way; involves tracing cable to point of origin (usually a wiring centre), linking there and then disconnecting/removing the cable run to the stat. With the cable dead the stat can be safely removed.

Thanks. I’ve gone for the lazy option for now and linked wires 1 & 2 at the wall thermostat, and everything working perfectly.

I could probably trace the cable at point of origin with a wire tracer. Where abouts is the wiring centre usually located?
