My Mum is an OAP and has a cracked loo infact it has broken of at the base.
She hasn't got the money to get some one in, so she has ask me to do it.
How should I go about doing it?.
Replacing it from the hole in the floor.

i would have thought the easiest way is to get another toilet and change them over.

whne i say another i mean identical (except not broken) this way it will be less hassle. have a look to see if it has any "name" if not measure it exactly, and go to builders merchant

Does it have a modern plastic waste outlet? If it is old it may be concreted into a clay waste pipe (exhausts into the floor?), and you have to carefully chisel the flange off and use a plastic waste connector. If the cistern is low level rather than close coupled it should be straightforward enough to just swap the pan for a new one. If it is close coupled you have to measure carefully and get the right new one, otherwise it will seem like the walls moved.

Hello

It has a concreted into a clay waste pipe.

The loo is around 40 years old had nothing wrong with it until my niece stood on it.

Thanks I'll have a go at that. :)
