Hi, I’m thinking of changing my shower mixer bar. Can you please tell me how I isolate both hot and cold pipes so I can remove the old mixer bar?
I’ve just moved house and the boiler is a combi.
Any help is appreciated.
Regards Dave

Turn off the main stop valve to the property and switch the boiler off. This should stop both hot and cold from a combi system, but turn the shower on to check no more than dregs in the pipes come out.

Turn off the water at your stopcock, open a hot tap to depressurise the system (this will do both hot and cold) then change your mixer. Once you're done, turn the stopcock on again. Easy!

Hi, Thank you for your replies. Do I need to turn of the boiler or can it be left on?
