Hi,
I am replacing some brass light switches with plastic ones, and obviously the brass ones are earthed. The back box is earthed and then there is an additional earth wire going from the back box to the old light switch. Am I ok to just leave that extra earth wire in the back box incase they are changed back to metal switches in the future or does it need removing?
Thanks for you help

I would remove the additional earth wire altogether, and make sure the main earth wire is connected firmly to the back box earth terminal. You may have to 'double' the end of the wire over to get a strong connection.

If you would prefer not to remove the earth wire, fit a 5 amp connector block to the end of it.
