I want to replace a standard white ceiling rose / light drop with a new light. The new light is a complete fixture so all the wiring comes into its enclosure.

I think I can work out the wiring that will be in the existing rose (from b&q diy book for example) and I can see the 3 new wires on the new light to hook up.

My question is with the ceiling rose, where do I terminate and join all the various wires together.

Do I just use connector blocks?
If so, what sort of block e.g. I have seen 5amp, 15amp etc.
Or is there some other "rose-like" terminal block I need to get?

What would an electrician use?

Thanks

if possible use choc bloc and put them in the cavity of the new lamp.

min size of choc block is 5A
15 would be nice (lots of room) but its physicaly big
