Hi All,
I'm looking to replace the flashing around a chimney as shown in the pics below. In particular the back gutter needs replacing. I have someone locally who can make the back gutter.
My question is around the best way to install the new flashing.
Initially I was thinking of just cutting a chase into the existing render but I'm leaning towards the idea of hacking off around 250mm of the render all around the chimney and then chasing a line into the brick to insert the lead. Then installing a drip bead just above the lead and then rendering back the gap.
Does that all sound fair enough or would cutting into the render be a reasonable course of action as the render is sound in most places?
Thanks for any advice.
Adam
