Im looking to replace the old Cockspur window handles in my new house. I haven't a clue when it comes to stuff like this.

It seems the old handles which have all become very loose and worn over time, are of the "nib nose" variety.

Can I replace these with "normal" handles, something like this,

Im worried I will have unsightly drill holes in my window frame from the old handles. Is there any way to know if the new handles/strike plate will cover these holes?

Thanks all, any help is very much appreciated. I have a bit to do around this house so I will be torturing you guys no doubt...
