Hi

I've got a cracked double glazing panel on the inside of the window. I'm gonna phone up a local chap to replace it but just wondered can it be replaced with a pane of some kind of privacy glass?(due to location) or is it dictated by the type of window?
thanks in advance

Micky

So you have normal clear glass double glazing and the inner pane is cracked?

Yes, you can have obscure glass. the whole unit will be discarded and a new one made with the obscure glass.

The heaviest readily available glass with the most obsurity is called Contora, its like fine small lumps and bumps. After that its sandblasted glass which gets expensive. :)

ok thanks thats helpful, especially the suggestion of the type, that way I can suggest it to the glazier.

And if you want blindingly obscure glass you can request double Contora both inside and outside pane.

its a double window so I'll be getting both done. One side should be enough, just its a bedroom window in an apartment and when our neighbours go in/out they can see through. Badly designed apartments imo. same problem with the balcony door. Good news for local glaziers anyway :D
