I recently moved into a new house and there was an alarm system already fitted..
has 4 pir's wired in and 2 door sensors.
It is an old Ademco system and i am struggling to find any information about it on internet, i want to upgrade it anyway so...

Can i just buy a control unit and keypad then use the existing pirs?
or can I at least use the existing wiring then need to upgrade the pirs?
How much do you reckon it would be for a fairly basic but new control unit and keypad, im not sure where to buy this kind of stuff?

thanks for any help

is it an ademco vista or infra ? a texecom veritas should be a pretty straight swop.

Its old, the detectors are tired.
A new system with detectors and contacts replaced after the existing cables are tested would be the best option.

Texecom, Scantronic/Cooper would be a start. Or wireless Visonic if you are doing this yourself and not able to test the cables fitted.

A Google search for those controls would give you online suppliers.

A basic "kit" with the detection you mention all renewed would be £400 ish
