My house is a converted stone barn. Where the barn doors were at the rear I have, on the ground floor, a large expanse of glass and french windows; above this on 1st floor the external finish is pine T&G cladding surrounding one window. This cladding is running vertically and has now (after 12 years) significantly warped such that in some places the tongue is out of the groove. So I can't just "un-pin and shift along" to close up the boards. Once the weather gets in I think I shall have problems. In retrospect I don't think it was a good idea that the cladding was laid vertically.
So, what I want to do is replace it with horizontally laid shiplap. Ideally I don't want to use softwood and I think the replacement panels should be pressure treated.
Any advice on this (or a better way of replacement) would be gratefully received.
Thanks
