I have a small porch, about 5ft square, built after the house, so there are two front doors - the original and the porch door. The porch door is made of wood with alternating wood and glass vertical strip.
The porch door is now beginning to show its age and is very difficult to close; so replacement is essential.
I have read somewhere that replacement front doors now have to meet Building Regulations for heat loss etc and have to be installed by a FENSA approved installer - cost about £700. But I can also find wooden front doors in the DIY sheds for about £120.
I am confused. Can any one give me some guidance?
