Hi

This is probably straight forward, but I cannot find an answer. Here is my problems:

* I have a Memera 2000 circuit breaker that uses HRC fuse carriers
* Am I able to replace a 30 amp fuse with a 40 amp fuse?

Thanks
Matt

Probabily not as the cable may not be rated to carry 40A. Why do you want to put a 40A fuse in? What does the circuit supply and what size cable is it? And how far is the cable run?

No (unless it's a spare / free position).

The fuse would have been designed for the circuit and cable.

Upping to 40A is outside the design and could allow the cable to over heat / overload before the fuse trips.

With design the fuse should always be the weak point and trip before issues become apparent elsewhere.

Could you elaborate on the reason for your question and why you feel it necessary to upgrade the fuse size.

I take it the current rating is marked on the carrier, iirc 40A carriers are 2 module width.
