Because of water damage I've had to replace a plaster ceiling. Before reboarding and replastering I removed the GU10 downlighters that were installed.
The ceiling is now finished and decorated and all I have to do is replace the GU10 downlighters BUT the person who originally fitted them sealed them up with silicone sealant.
I've manged to clean the actual fitting itself but my problem now is the gaskets/clear rubber joints that are between the fitting itself and the plasterboard, they are caked in silicone sealer and it is turning into a nightmare trying to get them clean.
Does anyone know where replacements can be purchased please or do I have to buy complete replacement parts?
