I'm looking to replace this rotten fence post, it's set in concrete which seems to be pretty deep (from drilling down into it). Should I attempt to break up/dig into the concrete the required 600mm (renting a jackhammer?) and then reset the post in new concrete or try and level the ground and use a fence post holder? Thanks!
Buy a cheapish kango from ebay or similar and you’ll have one if you need it. Or use it and sell it afterwards and get most of your money back. I have one and the kids have all borrowed it at some time or other.
Break up the concrete, dig out as necessary and set the new post.
Instead of digging out the old concrete you could just leave them in there and put new posts in a new hole, saves you the work of digging out and also by the time you have dug out the old you may end up with a much bigger hole than you need and so will be using extra cement for the posts. And 100% go for concrete posts and 12inch concrete gravel boards. -- Is that asbestos I see and gravel board
