Hi,
My Oven has given up and finally died, everytime you turn it on it trips the consumer unit.
I am looking at replacing it with this type of oven which comes with a plug attached,
https://ao.com/product/hhf113br0b-bosch-serie-2-electric-single-oven-stainless-steel-61057-45.aspx
The current cable going to the oven is a really thick one, guessing 6 or higher maybe 10mm? which connects into a socket above the worktop (this socket also has a plug socket on it which i have my microwave plugged into) and then the thick cable goes back to the consumer unit into a 32amp fuse labelled just for the oven.
My question is, will the size of the cable be a problem, I was just going to remove the hardwired cable going into the old oven and wire it into a socket, I can then just plug the new oven into this new socket
Will this be ok given the size of the cable, I cant recall how it works in terms of size of cables and amped fuses, when the cable would burn before it trips etc.
I have attached some photos which will hopefully help show the current setup.
Many thanks for your help.
