Hi all,

Been looking on google for a solution on how to install my new outside lights but unable to find a straight answer.

Currently have two PIR lights outside of the front door.

Have brought two new lights which are the ZINC eos outdoor wall lights with photocell from Screwfix.

Took the current outdoor lights of the bracket and noticed the following.

Three way terminal block connector with

Brown
Blue
Red (unsure)

Then the earth going to it’s own terminal point.

The new lights from screwfix just have the three way terminal (Live, Earth, Neutral)

Now I’m not sure what to do with the red wire as looking online it’s either a PIR permanent on switch or maybe a loop?

If it’s something to do with the PIR will it be a case of just terminating the red wire to a terminal block?

Many thanks

The red is likely to be the switched live from the PIR itself to the actual light.

Post a picture of the wiring - just copy and paste.

Thanks for the quick response.

I’ll get a picture of the wiring uploaded tomorrow morning when it’s light again!

Have a good evening.

I’m an idiot, as EFL mentioned looks like it is the switched live from the PIR and the cable coming from the house is the standard!
