replacing old style ceramic cistern

Our cistern in the downstairs loo is an Armitage Shanks ceramic one. It's not a "close coupled" if that's the right terminology in that there is a plastic tube joining cistern to toilet.

It seems to have a hairline crack and there is a small puddle of water on floor that I think must be coming from this.

I presume it needs replacing. Question is can you buy the cisterns seperately and does it necessarily need to be the same manufacturer? I suppose I wonder if the volume the cistern holds is important? I presume it won't be easy to find an exact match. Final question - about how much?
