Hi, I don't need to install a whole new bath but have been told I need to replace the push fit pipe with screw fit pipe as my push fit one was apparently cut too short by the plumber which is why it keeps disconnecting. Also the person I spoke to advised me against push fit. I don't know what pipes I need or how to fit them. The bath is already in place, sealed & tiled etc, can anybody help please? I can't afford to get someone in to fix it so I have to do this myself. I have never done any plumbing work but am willing to give it a go, but can you please take this into account with your answers and explain in simple terms. Thanks in advance

Where is the connection coming apart? from the underside of the taps or somewhere else?

If the pipes are comming off all the time do you have a wet room?

When was the bath fitted - if recently get the plumber back to fix.

Are the pipes that come off short flexible pipes that go to the taps? If so these are sold in standard lengths and aren't cut. Therefore it will be the copper or plastic fixed pipes are too short or badly connected.

In order to help we will need to know what types of pipe you have ... copper, plastic, chrome etc under the bath.

OK. Sorry about the colour- I didn't realise it would turn out so bad.

It is the underside of the bath where the pipes are coming apart. at present the pipes are pushed together- not threaded which was explained to me as push fit. The bath was fitted just before I moved in so I have no reciept for the work. When it first broke- without taking a look at the pipes I went out and bought PTFE tape- unfortunately there was no thread so I couldn't do anything with it! The person that advised me that I should replace the pipes said he could do it for me- but now he is trying to charge me quite a bit to do this and I really can't spend much. So I am willing to go out buy whatever pipes I need and fit it myself.

The pipes are currently grey plastic, it seems to disconnect when I empty the bath- so I guess that means its going to the drain. I haven't been able to use it as if floods through the ceiling in my kitchen.

Think that is all the details asked for. If I have missed anything please dont hesitate to mention. Thank you so much for your help

Out of interest, how much was your mate trying to charge you to stick a few bits of pipe together?
