replacing polyplumb joint

If replacing a polyplumb joint on plastic pipes then should i cut the pipe back from where the old joint was before placing new joint???

is this the same if it is a copper pipe??

You don't have to unless the pipe surface is damaged. If it's still in good condition and fairly round, then leave it alone.

If you do have to cut it back then make sure the new area that you choose is in god condition.

Yes.

Make sure you use the pipe manufacturer's support sleeves.
