We have this very dated porch on the front of our house, I'd like to update it by removing the existing door and windows and installing a new door with sidelights like this;

The existing footings and concrete floor can remain, I would just need to widen the opening (to fit the new, wider door) and then brick up to the roof once the existing windows have been removed. I would have the whole thing rendered.

The roof is in really good condition (it's one of those plastic ones), could I remove the existing windows and use acro props to hold up the roof, whilst I brick up to the extg roof?

Any observations/advice appreciated.

Many thanks.

Should be no problem holding the roof up while you rebrick.
FWIW I would tape black bags over the existing glass so as to mask it down to what the new arrangement will be. I think it will make your hall too dark.
