Hi all,

hoping someone can point me in the right direction with what wires do what on my thermostat.

I am looking to replace a potterton PTR01.000

which is wired up as so

with a Heatmiser PRT-WTS kit which has a wiring diagram as so:

I think the existing Red wire in port 1 (live) will go to the L on the Heatmiser receiver.

The blue wire in port 4 (N) will go to the N on the Heatmiser receiver.

What I am not sure is which port the yellow wire (port 2) will go to on the heatmiser receiver - whether it would be to the Permanent Live or the Switched Live port.

Or have i got it completely wrong and I can't just take the existing thermostat off the wall and replace with the Heatmiser kit?

any help will be gratefully accepted. TIA.

I agree.

Then connect the YELLOW wire (with red sleeve) to NO1.

It's not 100% clear, but I think you will also need to link L to COM with a short length of insulated wire.

Well, that's my educated guess - best info I can give you, without being there and using a meter to verify which wires are which and how the new stat's designed. ;)

P.S. My signature arose after giving some advice to someone in a very similar situation a while ago!

ChrisOxford,

many thanks for the response. I finally got round to buying and fixing the thermostat last week and your advice was spot on and I now have a wonderful working thermostat.
