I had the end of my tumble dryer cable get melted on an extension lead and figured I would just order a brand new cable to replace it. Want to keep the length so don't want to cut it and replace just the end. Want a whole new one.

How important is it to get the replacement power cable for the tumble dryer direct from the manufacturer? Will a variety of cables work?

The model is this:
Sharp KD-GCB8S7GW9-EN

Attached is a pic of the power cable with green/yellow, brown, and blue wires (from my current cable):

I figure it can't be too difficult to just replace this with whatever new one I order and attach the new ends to where the old ones were. Anything to watch out for?

The manufacturer quoted me £42 for a new cable and then I found this one on eBay for £25.

Any reason why I couldn't get the eBay one? Any cable like this I can get at a local shop like BQ or something like that?

Should be ok if it is a like for like replacement i.e. the cable is rated for the current drawn.
