Hi,

I am replacing my heating control with hive, I have replaced the old programmer with the new receiver using same wiring ports. I currently have the rf600 wireless thermostat. From reading previous posts I am assuming I may need to change wires in the control panel that is connected to the existing WR1 receiver, I have attached photo of current wiring. Boiler is a glow warm flexicom 18hx

Any help would be appreciated

Thx

With the wiring behind the WR1, do the grey and black wires go to terminals 1 and 3?
If so (with the power safely isolated), try moving the black wire in terminal 3 of the wiring centre to join with the white wire in terminal 8 of the wiring centre.
If the heating then operates correctly, the WR1 is linked out; the WR1 and it's wiring can then be removed.

Just to note, there is a green/yellow wire connected to HW On, on the Hive backplate - I can't see any green/yellow switched live wires in the wiring centre. Was any wiring changed from the old programmer, or is there another junction somewhere?

Sorry, on your 2nd point, no wiring was changed from old programmer, looks like lots of green/yellow are in central connections in wiring centre?

Hi,

Yes they do, just to confirm there is already a black wire as well as the white currently in terminal 8
Yes, the black wire is from the WR1.
It can stay there until you are sure the heating works. If it does, then the black wire in 8, the grey wire in 3 and the brown, blue and green/yellow wires from the WR1 can all be removed.
no wiring was changed from old programmer,
Ok, if it worked with the old programmer, it should work with the Hive! :)

Hi, just tried this , no luck,

I have attached image of cover in case numbering is not what as expected.

Also, not sure if it is anything but the black cable i have just moved comes from a wire and that is noted as I, another is noted B, immersion and boiler??

Again thanks for your help

I'm sorry it's not working.

What exactly doesn't come on?

Can you confirm that the grey wire that went into 3 and the black wire that went into 8, both came from the WR1 (You've already confirmed that the black and grey are are connected to 1 and 3 in the WR1)?

All we have done is connect the wires that would have been connected to the WR1 together - it should be bypassed.

Can you put the wires back how they were, and then turn the WR1 on and see if the Hive works?

The hive thermostat doesn't fire up the boiler, on both water and heating

Yes grey into 3 and black into 8 go in the wire leading to the wr1, and they go into 1 and 3 in wr1, photo attached

I believe I is to the programmer, B is to the boiler, and there is a black wire from the boiler, that connects with a white cable (to the right of the 3 port valve cable), that goes to a pump?
The cable that is next to the WR1 cable, I believe has wires to the tank stat.

Yes grey into 3 and black into 8 go in the wire leading to the wr1, and they go into 1 and 3 in wr1
Ok, so it probably isn't to do with the wiring we have just changed.

Next I would keep our wiring change, take the WR1 off it's backplate (be careful of the live contacts) and put the old programmer back and see if that still works.

Does that make sense?
