Replacing USB double socket with ordinary double socket

Hi all,

Im looking to replace a usb style double socket with an "ordinary" double socket.

There is 3 earth wires attached to the USB double socket, 2 into the earth at the top, and 1 into the bottom of the socket (pictured). What should I do with the third earth wire when putting in the new ordinary socket as there doesn't seem to be anywhere for a 3rd earth wire?

Connect all three earth wires. I'm assuming that third wire was for the suppression of the USB socket.

Yes - in the earth terminal.

Actually, it goes into the terminal in the backbox.

Which is fine

A dry paintbrush would be handy to brush out the dust and grit before fitting the new socket.

My bad. I viewed the picture on my phone and the screen nits are only 350 so the backbox appeared dark.
