Replacing Valliant VRT50 thermostat

Hi,
I want to replace my VRT50 thermostat with a Salus ST620VBC programmable thermostat.

Installation looks simple, however my question is-

Do I need to disconnect the existing wiring from the boiler (Ecotec Pro 24)? I believe it uses an eBus connection (not too sure what that means).

Or can I just leave it as is?

Just remebered getting to the pcb involves removing the sealed combustion chamber cover on the vaillants. So you need to call a registered engineer to change the wiring

Well I'm not technically rewiring - the new thermostat is an RF thermostat, so the receiver will plug in where the current timeswitch is on the boiler.

The wiring for the existing room thermostat will be redundant, so can the wires just be capped and left in the wall, or would they need to be removed from the PCB (requiring an engineer)?

Ah okay. Sorry. Didn't realise the salus you are installing is a plug in one. It is best practice to remove the ebus cable at the pcb. But to be honest. Parking the wires in a connector block in the wall should be OK. Since ebus works on very low voltage

Be aware that the Salus controls have caused some problems in Worcester boilers due to interference, I don't know how well they'll get on with the Vaillant. They are not 'approved' by the boiler manufacturers they claim to fit, of course.
