Hi all

I'm having some bespoke windows made and wanted to know what the procedure is for fitting them? The coarse of bricks above the windows are all headers, bricks cut in half with no support other than the original window. which are fixed in by there horns. The inner brick course all have lintels. There must be fitters who come across this every day. I be fitting these windows myself, have fitted windows before but my last house had nice concrete lintels!. I don't fancy inserting lintels either, my new windows will be 4 inch thick so they more than adequate. I got council inspecting when finished so just need to know what the crack is I guess.

regards

If you have no cracks already then your lucky, just be quick. If the mortar is cracked i usually just hammered a bolster chisel in to tighten them up, then i worked quick. Never lost a course of headers yet
