I AM REPOSITIONING A RADIATOR IN A DOWNSTAIRS ROOM ,IT IS AN INDIRECT SYSTEM WITH ITS OWN HEADER TANK,DO I HAVE TO DRAIN DOWN ALL THE WATER . BEFORE DISCONNECTING RADIATOR.
Yes - but you'll minimise the water loss if you plug the tank outlet and the expansion pipe over the tank.
If you are working below a suspended timber floor you can cut the pipe there and install full bore isolators....just the job when you need to connect the new radiator.
