Hello, long time subscriber, first time poster.
Have installed a new shower tray, built up on 8" x 2" joists and 18mm marine ply to create a base. Bedded the resin shower tray on a 10mm ish bed of mortar, tamped down and levelled and left 48 hours. Exactly what the shower tray installation instructions said.
After 48 hours the mortar has not stuck to the tray base, but has adhered well to the plywood and is hard. Shower tray lifted as if it was not attached to mortar and the mortar seems to have shrunk around the corners of the tray. The base lifted without damaging the mortar and showed good contact all around the tray but had just not adhered, have no idea why.
Any suggestions please? Was just thinking of several tubes of grip fill between the now set mortar and shower base.
Thanks
Gareth
