Installed a honeywell acenta alarm kit today (my first one :D ). All programmed in ok and tested out fine.

On the bellbox (Reson eight) i set the LED's to CON so they are constantly illuminated. I set the alarm tonight on leaving the property and could only see the red LED lit up. Id also had the alarm set for a couple of hours in the day whilst i was out with no problems.

I was reading the literature tonight and it says the green LED should illuminate to show there is no tamper, i.e the tamper circuit is healthy and closed.

Anyway, this has got me worried now,

Was it just because the green LED isnt visible through the 'strobe' that i couldnt see it?? Funny as i could see the red one fine.

If the system had a tamper fault, then it would tell me wouldnt it and not let me set it correctly? yes or no?

If there is a wiring error or something ive not connected correctly, is the alarm likelly to go off in the night? Just wondering whether i need to go up to disarm it! (keep the nieghbours happy and that :D )

Any comments appreciatted.

Regards

Its hopefully an optical illusion..as your alarm wouldnt set with a tamper fault. You should have done a few tests to make sure the tamper switch was working :D ...common error is to leave the timer link in the test position :D

Cheers Denford, i can sleep easier tonight then! :D

Strange how i could see the red LED very well though, but no green. Ill have a better look in the morning, I set the timer link to 20 mins (after id left it on test the first time).

I did the other recommended tests such as checking the tamper by removing the bellbox cover ect so thought id got it all sorted. i would think that if the tamper circuit was unhealthy then it would tell me.

Regards.
