Respect Costs Nothing.

I have every sympathy, and respect for the soldiers, what I cannot reconcile is why they are there.

several large sections of that clip were taken from movies... as well as several stills..

and many werent. If youve any doubt about what they are going through, watch the series doctors and nurses at war on itv. Very very sobering.

As the guy who sent me it is in the Royal Signals I asked him how close to reality is it.

Just got his reply.

Fairly close, those seeing it on film does not come anywhere near to seeing it happen to your mate next to you and then having to try and figure out where the BAS STEWARD is that done it before trying to help your mate.

He also went on to say that when things like this were happening you didn't have a song in the background, just a cacophony of indistuingishable sounds that entered your every pore till you felt like screaming for it to stop.

So referring back to the post on those protesters, in my humble opinion everyone of them should have been rounded up and deported, even if they were born in this country but their parents came from somewhere else. Live in this country, live by its rules and respect its people. If you can't do that then GET OUT AND STAY OUT!

Sorry, will put my soapbox away now.

My dad would never talk about the second World War, he was in the Royal Navy on the convoy escorts in the Atlantic and Russian routes. I think I am slowly beginning to understand why as I have now been able, since his death 5 years ago, to research his time in the service and the battles he was involved in.

the point was driven home on "Ross Kemp's return to Afganistan"..

in the last episode they were split into 2 teams to scope out 2 hills as vantage points overlooking a town they were trying to drive the taliban out of..
big boom from the other hill as one of the guys set of an IED...
said he died en-route to the hospital but he was clearly shown already in a bodybag being put on the med-evac chopper...
