Hey all. hope someone out there will be able to help me. Just moved into a new property and it has an alarm system. It has 2 boxes one at front and back and a control panel which the password is unknown and seems to need new batteries. It's made by Response alarms and cant work out which model it is to find the manual online. Any advice or what i shall do will be greatly appreciated. Will the alarm go off if the control panel is not working ie when I open the siren casing??

Also comes with 3 movement sensors and 2 door sensors

Thanks

The alarm is unlikely to go off as my experience of Response alarms is that the solar panels do not keep the internal battery backed up.
However if they do go off how are you going to stop them?

the bell-box at the back is probably a dummy. Have a towel or something ready to wrap round the siren IF you need to take it off, to avod annoying the neighbours. Let the control panel bateries go flat befire you interfere with it, and then it might not set the siren off.

But if you contact the manufacturers (Friedland) http://www.friedland.co.uk/en-GB/pr...ts/Response/Wireless Alarm/Pages/default.aspx and use the "contact us" button you can probably get a manual online, same as you can with yale, and it is probably possible (as it is a DIY alarm) to reset it to factory defaults so that you can recommence the installation process and put in your own PIN.

Presumably you have already asked the previous homeowners, which would be far less trouble?

That is just a keypad. If there isn't another keypad, then you have a siren based alarm system.

A quick check to see if it's working is to look at the siren, and watch for two red led's. They should flash about once every 10 seconds. If they arent flashing, my money's on that the system won't make a peep.

Edit: Look at the yellow siren, not the white one

Hey guys, thanks for the help. By the looks of it the keypad is out of battery as well as the sensors. The yellow box on the otherhand has the red flashing lights to say its active. Do you think i should put new batterys in the keypad and whats the chances of it going off?

It looks like an SA2 go to there website there will be a manual there

Thanks guys thats awesome help. Looks like it's definitely the SA2 looks like just need to replace all the batterys and hope for the best and have a ladder ready!

Thanks to all :D
