Hi, I'm tackling a loft conversion and hanging my joists fully below the support (152×152×30 UC) with Strong tie JHA450 hangers. Strong tie have confirmed this will still provide at least 4kn of strength. However I need to prevent the joists from swinging forward and aft as they are completely below the support. Is there a standard way if doing this? Would it be ok to fix blocks of wood at each end, secured to the existing floors joist, which will be sitting just below the new ones?
Thanks
