Retrospective Building Warrant?

I personally installed a new kitchen which required 2 new circuits for re-positioned oven and microwave at the opposite side of the room, with additional sockets for dishwasher etc.

The work was done by an experienced but unregistered Polish electrician. He was supposed to be buying a new machine to test and certify the installation, but this never happened.

The kitchen has been operational for 4 years and I am happy that all was installed correctly, but I am now aware that a Building Warrant was required as it is a flat.

I am thinking of moving and considering should I apply for a Retrospective Building Warrant or just leave matters considering the time that has elapsed.

Advice please?

Not sure on Scottish law but in Wales anything before 2004 did not need a completion or compliance certificate so I would say it was done in 2003 late enough to have new wire colours but early enough not to need declaring.

I am all for things being proved to be safe, rather than plug and play and if your electrician did not have the appropriate equipment to do this, then they could not possible prove it was safe! But with regards to building warranty, not for filling their pockets either! I would suggest you have an electrical installation condition report and hopefully it comes up satisfactory.
