A friend had left the interior light on and batt was run down. I gave it a try on the starter, voltage dropped right down and dashlights lit up, I think speedo and rev counter momentarily flicked from zero to max, then the engine caught and the dash settled down. Except that rev counter does not now work, stays at zero, but other instruments incl speedo are OK.

So I'm guessing probably not a dashboard fuse, but voltage damage?

Any ideas of fix? It is think a 2001/2 model.

Could be that it has upset the engine management system, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, it might work when you connect it again. Otherwise could be an instrument fault. Unlikely to be easy to find unless someone else has had the same problem and can tell you.

Give the dash a flick with your finger with the revs on the engine, needle might be stuck, common Alfa fault
