I have reversed my kitchen door ( lock remains same side) but need to reverse the bevelled latch, as the flat end hits the striker plate first.
The lock is probably 1930s vintage. Any info on how best to take the lock apart to reverse the bevelled latch part?

take the lock off of the door, there may be some screws on the inside plate of the latch which will allow access to the lock. Once opened (carfully as it will contain springs...boing oooppss there it goes across the room!) you will see the latch. It may be able to be reversed. I only say may in all of this as if it is that old a lock it may not be an option.

Thermo,

Thanks for your help and quick rsponse.
Much appreciated.
