reversing lights not working on g reg micra

probably something simple but i dont have a clue what im looking for, all my other rear lights work, except my reversing lights. how do I fix it ???

would be very grateful for any advice

Check, in this order, bulb(s),fuse, earth, reversing light switch.

I had a H reg micra, same problem. Jiggle the gear lever in reverse - does the light flicker? If so its the switch contact. But the gearbox caved in on my micra after 66,000 miles, scrapped it, it was falling to pieces so it may / may not be worth fixing

BTW, is it red?
