Anyone from Nuneaton area and wants a bit of work? My ridge tiles need re-pointing, havn't managed to find anyone local who's not a cowboy.

Its a mid 30's semi, two runs from the corners to the top of the roof, a short flat run at the top and another short flat run at the front.

Email if the price is right youve got the work.

Cheers

Mick

You sound just like me, "everyone else is a cowboy". Until you change your attitude you are unlikely to find anyone who isn't a cowboy. You will always be picking holes. There are lots of good tradesmen about, but they might not be perfect. You will probably expect perfection for a remarkably low price.

Nowadays there are strict regulations about workinh at height, and this is going to COST!!! You shoudn't work form ladders anymore, ladders are for access, not for workplatforms. So it might be a problem.

Now, do they really need repointing? They weigh quite a bit and are unlikely to get blown down except by winds which will blow most other things down too.

Nope, dont expect perfection for a low price, what i do expect is that when someone quotes for a job, agrees a price and a date, that they then bother to actually turn up and do the job. This has now happened twice and i dont know why.

I'm a mechanic, not a roofer or builder. I have to accept someones word as to what needs doing, i then sort out the price nd they do the job. I dont expect to go up on the roof to start picking holes in their work just as i dont expect my customers to remove the new parts that i fitted to their car to check they are fitted right.

"Do they really need re pointing". Read the above, i dont know. The end ridge tile, the lowest one at the corner of the roof by the gutter, has had birds nesting in it, theres now a hole at the end you can see from the ground and the metal bracing thing has fallen off.

Now, any roofers around here want to come and inspect, quote and then do the job?
