While redecorating a room I've discovered a 2.5mm cable (feeding a spurred socket) that crosses the path of the pipes feeding the radiator in the room, just under the floor. The cable touches the pipes for an inch or so (cable looks fairly new and undamaged, despite the pipes being very hot).
Clearly this is a Bad Thing.
Question is, do I need to re-route the cable well away from the pipes (v.tricky), or can I simply insulate the cable from the heat of the pipes using a short piece of trunking or something similar?
