Six weeks ago we had a small escape of water (a few litres from sink onto kitchen floor) that was mopped up straight away but was enough to cause the engineered wood floor to warp, so we are going to get it replaced with Amtico.
The subfloor is concrete with ceramic tiles on top that a floor-fitter thinks date to when the subfloor was put down.
We've had two floor fitters quote for the job. One thinks there is a danger that moisture will be trapped deep in the concrete. He says we need to remove the existing wood floor, test the moisture levels in the concrete, and may then have to leave it further days/weeks with a dehumidifier before screeding it and fitting the new floor. The other thinks this would only be necessary with a wood subfloor, and that with a concrete subfloor any trapped water will just need to be mopped off the top.
Any opinions on who is correct? Thanks in advance.
