.. the figures suggest that 16 million Americans could be affected.
Intermittent explosive disorder, or IED, has been included in psychiatric textbooks for the last few decades, but is little-studied and was not thought to affect anywhere near so many people...

Do you have it - yet ? ;)

Quote "Dr Emil Coccaro, chairman of psychiatry at the University of Chicago's medical school and the report's co-author, said: "People think it's bad behaviour and that you just need an attitude adjustment, but what they don't know ... is that there's a biology and cognitive science to this." "

I don't believe this. You sometimes hear men who beat up their wives say they have an uncontrollable temper... but it seems this temper is only uncontrollable when they're hitting someone smaller and weaker than themselves, it doesn't seem to strike when they're faced with someone who could very obviously beat them to a pulp, and is willing to do it.

Well said JohnD. Men who hit women or people they know are weaker than themselves are usually nothing more than bullies that would run a mile if someone their own stature arrived on the scene. They don't need psychiatric help they need a good kick up the orchestrations.

BE HAPPY
