RIP Robin.
With your brothers you made many people very happy.
Whether you liked them or hated them you cannot deny they had a big influence on the music we were brought up on. And unlike some artistes they moved with the times, not sticking to what they knew but trying to keep up with the ever changing world.
At least with most of their songs they had meaning. Unlike most of the trash belted out by modern 'bands'.

Strange how back in the 70's I thought they were really naff because they weren't playing the sort of music I was meant to be listening to but now I can appreciate them for the geniuses they really were. Particularly Robin who actually had the best voice.

R.I.P Robin Gibb

Robin was the funniest natural comedian I've ever heard. Listen to some of his interviews. He wasn't 'saved by the bell' though.

RIP Robin Gibb.

The Bee Gees are a unique sound, that was the backing track to much of the 70s and beyond.

Spirits Having Flown.

Private Eye will no doubt have some epitaph along the lines of:

Robin
you sang
staying alive
Now, ah,ah,ah,ah,
you're staying dead
RIP

About 6 weeks ago whilst driving back from somewhere I was listening to Steve Wright interviewing Robin Gibb and he Robin, was saying he had never felt better.
However during the interview Steve Wright played a new release of Robin Gibb which he said was to be released in the next few weeks, it was an arrangement with his son and about something to do with the Titanic.
I thought it was brilliant but I have heard nothing about it since, anybody else heard or was I just dreaming.?
